Qingdao Huahai Environmental Protection Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in 1994, formerly the state‑owned Qingdao No.7 Rubber Products Factory. Upholding the tenet of "Quality First, Customer Supreme", the company specializes in rubber dams, air‑shield dams and oil spill recovery equipment, offering two major product series: river‑retaining dams and oil‑spill prevention & control products.
Huahai operates four production lines for rubber dams and air‑shield dams, together with specialized workshops for machinery manufacturing, dam bags and oil bladders. Covering processes from rubber mixing, calendering and vulcanization to finished‑product assembly, it provides customized products of various models, dimensions and special shapes to meet project requirements.
Since 1994, the company has manufactured and installed more than 6,000 rubber dams and air‑shield dams. Its projects are spread across all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China, and its products are exported to the United States, Vietnam, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Iran and other countries.
Representative landmark projects include the 700‑meter coloured rubber dam on the Yi River in Linyi, Shandong, known as "Asia’s No.1 Dam"; the 1,120‑meter rubber dam at Xiaodudong in Linyi, which holds a Guinness World Record; the 500‑meter rubber dam in Baqiao District, Xi’an of Shaanxi Province; the 346‑meter rubber dam on the Huangshui River in Xining, Qinghai Province; and the 300‑meter arc‑shaped rubber dam on the Chaobai River in Shunyi District, Beijing.
Back in 1989, Huahai undertook the national "Seventh Five‑Year Plan" key scientific and technological research project assigned by the Ministry of Transport, stepping into the field of water‑surface oil spill recovery. Its product portfolio contains oil booms, oil skimmers, oil spill monitoring systems, floating‑oil recovery vessels and auxiliary equipment. The oil boom series has obtained certification from China Classification Society (CCS).
Since 2024, Huahai has participated in a national key R&D program for key technologies on risk prevention and control of sudden marine environmental pollution accidents. In collaboration with the Water Transport Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport and China University of Petroleum (East China), it conducts research on equipment for containing and recovering surface oil spills. It has also accomplished key‑technology research and development on integrated oil‑spill recovery equipment for harsh sea conditions, a project commissioned by Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology.
The enterprise is a filed ship‑borne oil‑spill emergency response reserve force recorded by Shandong Maritime Safety Administration, and has obtained recognition from maritime authorities of the Yangtze River, Jiangsu, Shanghai and other regions. Its products and services have been applied in multiple scenarios: pollution prevention at Dianchi Lake in Kunming, algae blocking for Taihu Lake in Jiangsu, Enteromorpha prolifera containment at Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, as well as facilities for Yangzi Petrochemical, Daya Bay in Huizhou, and national major offshore oil‑spill emergency disposal field exercises.
Huahai Environmental Protection is a national high‑tech enterprise and a Shandong Provincial Specialized, Refined, Differential and Innovative Enterprise. It runs a provincial‑level enterprise technology center, and has been awarded titles including Shandong Provincial Enterprise of Observing Contracts and Valuing Credit, Shandong AAA‑Credit Enterprise, and Qingdao Famous‑brand Product. Its trademark "Qinglan" is recognized as a Well‑known Trademark of Shandong Province.
For enterprises engaged in water conservancy, port, petrochemical and marine environmental‑protection sectors, Huahai welcomes exchanges on rubber dams, air‑shield dams and oil‑spill prevention & control equipment. It intends to strengthen R&D and expand cooperation scenarios in water‑conservancy supporting facilities, marine environmental protection and emergency‑response equipment.
