Recently, a joint government-enterprise emergency drill for refined oil leakage at the Miluo River crossing of the Changsha-Chenzhou Pipeline successfully concluded in Miluo City.

The drill was co-hosted by the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Yueyang Municipal People’s Government and the PipeChina Group, bringing together multidisciplinary professional forces. It tested the emergency response capability for sudden oil spill incidents through realistic scenarios.

A series of oil spill emergency response products manufactured by Qingdao Huahai Environmental Protection Industry Co., Ltd. were invited to participate in the drill. With stable and reliable performance and efficient, precise disposal effects, they successfully completed the assigned tasks, demonstrating the strong strength of a leading enterprise in China’s oil spill control industry.

The drill simulated an emergency scenario in which the section of the Changsha-Chenzhou refined oil pipeline crossing the Miluo River ruptured due to external causes, resulting in diesel oil leakage. Part of the spilled oil flowed into the Miluo River, posing a severe threat to the aquatic ecological environment and requiring immediate emergency measures such as rapid containment and recovery. As one of the earliest enterprises in China engaged in the research and manufacturing of oil spill recovery equipment, Huahai Environmental Protection participated in the entire drill with its core oil spill emergency products, including key equipment such as rubber oil booms and high-efficiency oil skimmers, providing solid equipment support for the smooth progress of the drill.

After the emergency occurred, Huahai Environmental Protection’s oil spill response products were quickly put into actual combat. At the drill site, staff rapidly deployed Huahai rubber oil booms. Thanks to the products’ excellent properties of oil resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, as well as convenient installation enabled by quick-connector design, multiple “water protection barriers” were established in a short time, successfully curbing the spread of oil spills and gaining valuable time for subsequent recovery operations.

Subsequently, high-efficiency oil skimmers were precisely activated. Relying on core technologies independently developed by Huahai Environmental Protection, they realized rapid adsorption, separation and recovery of oil slicks on the water surface, with a stable recovery efficiency of over 90%, effectively reducing the pollution risk of oil spills to the Miluo River waters. The whole process was efficient, smooth and accurately implemented, winning high recognition from leaders in attendance and participating units.

The oil spill response products displayed by Huahai Environmental Protection in this drill are the crystallization of more than 40 years of deep cultivation in the environmental protection sector and continuous technological innovation.
